Political Philosophy for Doug Sheres
Candidate for |
As a native San Diegan and Solana Beach resident, I wish to preserve the small town character of our community. In recent years our quality of life has been threatened by poorly-planned development and ill-advised decisions made by certain members of our city council. Preserving our environment by replenishing sand on our beaches, protecting our ocean, and saving our lagoons and open spaces is critical to all of us. Our neighborhoods and quality of life must not be sacrificed to the interests of out of town developers. If elected I will: Listen to all of our citizens and faithfully represent them on the Council. Preserve the small-town feel of our unique seaside community, while building a stronger yet compatible business district. Reduce traffic congestion and preserve present densities by enforcing tougher up-zoning regulations. I will dedicate myself to the goals of all our citizens. If elected, I will remain a concerned citizen, determined to maintain our quality of life so that we, our parents, and our children will always have a wonderful place to call home |
