My commitment to education in our community has been lengthy and diverse

  • Chairperson 1997 School Bond Measure. This measure enabled our district to build our new middle school campus.
  • Boulder Oaks Art Docent Program. I have been involved in promoting The Arts in Education for over a decade. I helped create and have spent the past eight years implementing a visual arts program, utilizing parents as 'docents' in the classroom. During my involvement we have expanded the Art Docent Program to all elementary schools in our district and to parochial "sister sites" throughout the county.
  • Alpine High School Citizens Committee. A local high school is a priority for our community. I have been involved in this effort since its' inception. I am currently the Vice Chair and the Chair of our Political Action Committee.
  • Back Country Land Trust, Director of Education. The land trust's mission is to preserve educational, cultural, biological and historical resources in San Diego County. In partnership with the Alpine Union School District, we have completed phase one of the acquistion of Wright's Field, a unique resource with exciting 'hands on' applications for our middle and elementary school students.
  • Computer Aide, part time employee of the Alpine Union School District, two years.
  • PTA Board Member for the past eleven years.
  • Classroom Volunteer, eleven years.
  • School Site Council, two years.
