I was born in Colusa, California in 1943 and am one of the few "native sons" I know. I enlisted in the U.S. Navy Academy in Annapolis, Maryland from 1962 - 1966 where I obtained my engineering and leadership education. While employed as a Mechanical Engineer with the civilian Department of the Navy, I attended Villanova University in Villanova, Pennsylvania in the evenings studying Business Administration and Accounting (1970-1972). Subsequently I obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology & Sociology on the way to my ultimate goal of Educational Doctorate (Ed.D.). In 1974 I took vows of poverty, humility and obedience to the self-funding Roman Catholic tertiary social services order known as the Order of Nazirites and sworn in service to the Society of Jesus (Jesuits); and am its principal administrator, its Southwest Regional Bishop and a practicing Psychotherapist. |
