Julie P. Dubick has earned respect in numerous fields: as an attorney, as a parent, as an education activist, as a continuing legal education instructor, as a mediator, and as a student. Her commitment to education reform is reinforced by her strong belief in the education system and all that it should be accomplishing to prepare our children for a bright and successful future.

Professionally, Julie is a senior partner at Seltzer, Caplan, Wilkins & McMahon, specializing in business litigation, including corporate and partnership and franchise disputes, employment litigation, and real estate and commercial disputes. Julie's practice includes trial experience before state and federal courts, in administrative hearings, and before arbitration and mediation panels.

Julie attended Mount Holyoke and Dartmouth Colleges, and received her law degree with honors in 1974 from Case Western Reserve School of Law. Before entering private practice, she was a trial attorney in the civil division of the United States Department of Justice from 1974-1978, having entered through its Honors Program. In 1978, she was appointed the General Counsel of the United States Marshals Service, where she was later promoted to the rank of Assistant Director. When she left Washington in 1981 to join Seltzer, Caplan, Wilkins & McMahon, she was the highest-ranking woman in federal law enforcement.

Julie is a teacher for the Continuing Education of the Bar and NITA, a member of the Southern District Court and San Diego Bar Professional Ethics committees, a recipient of trial attorney and meritorious service awards from the Justice Department, and a member of the firm's executive committee. She is a member of the American Arbitration Association Panel of Complex Cases and has both mediated and acted as an arbitrator in employment and business disputes. She is also active in several local charities, a Board member of the National Conference for Community and Justice, a former Board member of Scripps Memorial Hospital Foundation, a member of the P.T.A., and a former chair of the San Diego Bar Association Education Committee. Julie is married and has three children.
