The Political Philosophy of Arnie Leff

Wise decisions to protect our environment. Social Justice. Nonviolence and reconciliation. Respect for diversity. Human Rights including feminism, gay rights, citizens' police oversight. Global responsibility including support for improved working conditions.

I will work to eliminate the use of toxic substances when alternatives are available and, in some cases, even if alternatives are not. I support significant caution on the the use of genetically modified foods with appropriate labeling of all foods.

I will work to improve mass transit and alternative personal transit. I see no reason to continue such large expenditures on defense and police.

I support and will work for the end of the drug war. Working toward harm reduction and treatment/prevention instead of war and violence. The time has come to recognize the failure of the drug war.

I would put an immediate moratorioum on building new prisons and look to release all non-violent drug offenders. I support easy access to DNA testing for all prisoners who wish to get support for their innocence.
