COMMUNICATION, BUDGET, & FACILITIES ISSUESBy C. N. "Corinne" GordonCandidate for Governing Board Member; Live Oak Elementary School District | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
From the beginning of my involvement with the Live Oak School District, I have advocated for ÔdemystifyingÕ the public school system so that parents are empowered in the education of their children. I have worked to strengthen District relations with all employee and community groups, including my participation at site council, parent-group, and committee meetings. I envision re-building teacher trust and improving communication, in part, through the implementation of an alternate collective bargaining model. I and the present Board have directed Administration to review and restructure the DistrictÕs budget to assure on-going fiscal solvency while maximizing funds available for recruiting and retaining quality staff. I'm an advocate for expanding public & staff understanding of budget and facilities issues, and I look forward to the future completion of our elementary school modernization projects. |
