My family moved to Morgan Hill in 1972. After living away for college and work opportunities, my wife, Kirsten and I decided to move back to Morgan Hill to begin our own family. The community of Morgan Hill has been an important influence in my life and now I have the opportunity to give back to the community. As Silicon Valley continues to prosper and grow, many new young families like mine are moving to Morgan Hill. My experiences are similar to those of other working families and individuals. Whether it is commuting to jobs in Silicon Valley and being stuck on 101, being involved in our local schools, trying to find affordable housing or enjoying the open parks and rural lifestyle of Morgan Hill, I will bring to City Hall a perspective that is representative of a growing part of our population. My background as a School Board Member, former Congressional aide and current Director of Education for the Silicon Valley Manufacturing Group will help me bring a regional approach to policies, and help me to engage our colleagues in neighboring and overlapping jurisdictions. While serving two terms as President of the Board of Education, I helped lead our district in making the tough decisions that had been on hold for too many years. · The first new school construction in almost a decade · A second high school · Major renovations and new construction at Live Oak High School · Brought music instruction back to our elementary schools · Continuous improvement in communications with parents, teachers, staff and the community at large I'm honored to have the support of Morgan Hill's firefighters, Morgan Hill's teachers and the City Employee's Association. If you agree the Time is Now for leadership to move Morgan Hill forward, I would appreciate your support.
