Political Philosophy for Dodie Backus

|
My water philosophy is that people should be able to turn on their taps and feel confident that they will get pure, safe clean water delivered with the proper pressure. In addition they should be confident that if a fire should occur there would be a dependable supply of water to put it out. It is up to the water district, through its management and staff, and under the responsibility of the directors, to provide these things. At this time the Carmichael Water District is constructing a new membrane water treatment plant on the American River. This plant will be ready to go on line by spring 2001. At that time we expect to have greatly improved water. In addition, the district is continuing its modernization of the pipelines which had been in bad shape before this modernization began. I support the effort to continue to upgrade the ageing lines. As a new director, replacing a retiring director, I will do all I can to see that this plant operates as efficiently as possible. I will work to keep the water rates as low as possible, and as equitable as possible. |
