Prosecuting Attorney James A. "Jim" Young is a local homeowner and long-time resident of Huntington Beach. He is employed as a full-time city prosecutor in Long Beach and handles criminal matters as well as environmental crimes. In addition, he practices civil law and maintains an office in Huntington Beach, handling clients on estate planning, tax, corporate, local busniess, litigation, and governmental regulation matters.

James graduated from the University of Southern California with a bachelor's degree in both international relations and psychology. After traveling throughout Europe, he returned and obtained his law degree while clerking for the Presiding Justice at the California Court of Appeal, the United States Attorney's Office, the Los Angeles County Superior Court, and the Los Angeles County District Attorney. In just a few months, he will also have a master's degree in taxation from the University of San Diego School of Law.

Named after both his father and grandfather, James is the first of two children born to James and Helena Young. He enjoys surfing, sailing, tennis, keeping fit, and being active in sports, outdoor activities, and community events. After work, he can often be found with his dog, Zoie, running on the beach in Huntington.

James is responsible, dedicated, honest, educated, experienced, and wants to clean our beaches, clean-up local government, and stop City Hall from cleaning us out. Accordingly, he asks for your support in the upcoming election for Huntington Beach City Council.
