Suzie Swartz has been an active member of the community since moving to the Saddleback Valley 13 years ago. She has served many years on the Executive PTA Boards for both Del Cerro Elementary and the Saddleback Valley PTA Council in addition to developing and chairing the district wide "Turn Off the Tube Week." Suzie has also served on various SVUSD advisory committees including Health Texbook Adoption, Facilities Advisory, Healthy Kids and Site Councils. She has also represented parents on Community review panels for the California State Department of Education. Suzie recently served on the Orange County Department of Education Ad Hoc Committee for Character Education, Mission Viejo High School Band Boosters Board, the South County Phi Delta Kappa Executive Board and is a founding member of the Asset Building Ad Hoc Committee. Suzie participated in the City of Mission Viejo Intergenerational Workshop and is a proud recipient of the Phi Delta Kappa Golden Triangle Award for her years of community service to our public schools. Currently, Suzie serves on the SVUSD Healthy Kids committee, Asset Building Ad Hoc Committee and is a member of the Community Advisory Board for South County Family Resource Center where she recently completed a series of preschool story hours in English and Spanish. Suzie is a UCLA graduate and has taught preschool for the past five years in addition to working with her husband, Jeff, in their public relations business over the last 14 years. Suzie and Jeff live in Mission Viejo with their two sons, who both attend SVUSD schools. |
