Tustin LegacyBy Ken MorrisonCandidate for Member, City Council; City of Tustin | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
My proven accomplishments and experience demonstrate that I am the candidate best suited to secure federal government cooperation in our pursuit of a reuse plan for the former Tustin Marine base that enhances our economic well-being and quality of life for all Tustin residents. We must win adoption of a reuse plan for the former Tustin Marine base that enhances our economic well-being and the quality of life for all residents -- without causing unacceptable increases in Tustin's traffic, air pollution, and related problems brought by overdevelopment and high density. The Tustin City Council has been frustrated in its attempt to secure cooperation from the Department of Navy on transfer of the base property. As former Special Counsel to the City of Irvine working on the El Toro Marine base reuse plan, I am the only candidate who has successfully maneuvered highly-sensitive political matters through the Department of Navy. Through my fourteen years of representing federal whistleblowers, I have developed valuable contacts within virtually every federal agency, affording me the ability to effectively fight for Tustin whenever and wherever the federal government might put up roadblocks. |
