A Letter To My Neighbors

One city - meeting the needs of each individual neighborhood -- that's what my campaign is all about. But before talking about why I'm running for City Council, let me tell you a little about myself.

Growing up, my mom and dad taught me the value of hard work, a strong family, and community service. I will always be grateful that my parents taught me to value the diversity of our community because that diversity is our greatest strength. Together, we can make a difference.

These are the values that have shaped my life. These are the values that I will live by each and every day if you elect me as your Councilmember for Ward #1.

As your Councilmember, you can count on me to fight for your needs:

· Safe Streets and Safe Schools

· Quality Housing for First-time Homebuyers

· After School Education and Recreation Programs for Youth

· Good-paying Jobs and a Strong Local Economy

· Quality City Services for Every Neighborhood!

Fortunately, my parents also taught me that a good education was the key to success. After graduating from Cerritos High School and Cypress College, I earned a Foreign Service degree from Georgetown University, and my law degree from the University of Southern California.

After working in the Orange County District Attorney's office and as a private practice attorney, I went to work for former Congressman Esteban Torres specializing in health care, labor and economic development issues.

Since 1997, I have worked for Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez and currently serve as her local District Office Director.

Over the next few months, you'll hear more about my campaign and why I will be your best choice to represent Ward 1, as well as the people of other Santa Ana neighborhoods.
