Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Richard Lutz

Candidate for
Member, City Council; City of La Palma

This information is provided by the candidate

I will not vote for a labor contract that takes financial control away from the La Palma City Council. When a contract assures a specific ranking among peer groups in the county, then the fiscal control is given to the other city councils in the county. This year the raise was budgeted at 3.5% and it ended up 5.75%. What would have happened to the budget if it had been higher?

I believe that with the additional space provided by the new community center we have the opportunity to rethink our entire recreation program. I would hope that we could have more adult programs in La Palma and minimize the current necessity of having to partner with other cities
