Stop Airport Use at El Toro MCAS

By Kenneth L. "Ken" Hansen

Candidate for Member, City Council; City of Irvine

This information is provided by the candidate
County plans continue to be developed to construct an airport at El Toro MCAS. The job is not completed.
On September 11, 2000 the Appeal on Measure F was continued by the court with additional arguments being submitted. The County continues development of EIR responses and defenses and will not change course until Measure F is upheld and Measure A is overturned by the voting majority of Orange County.

Irvine elected officials have performed in an exemplary manner in the Measure F victory but the job must be completed by the newly elected councilmembers in this years election. I have served Mike Ward as his Planning Commissioner for the past 3 years and helped in his role as a member of ETRPA which leads the South County fight on this effort.

I am knowledgeable on the airport issues and am endorsed by the South County leaders in this effort. The job is not complete and I will continue this effort until all Irvine residents can be assured flights will never takeoff or land over Irvine homes and schools.
