election statement

As you may know, our elections are this November 7th. My name is Jason Robert Edwards. I am running for city council this year because I have noticed a lot of inefficiencies in our local government. I am tired of watching council meetings where councilmen come ill prepared. I feel that many of the gentlemen in office do not research the parameters of meeting topics to the best of their ability. I also feel that many opinions are not being represented with our current system. We televise only portions of local council meetings. I wish to bring back the coverage of meetings in their entirety to ensure better representation. Government is often about compromise, but you cannot have a good compromise when you have not allowed all parties effected to have their say. There are many local issues that are not receiving the attention that they deserve. Many topics are neglected and in some cases ignored until there is a major public uproar. If I am elected, I will address topics before they become problems. I vow to do the best job I can possibly do. I will seek out those effected by my decisions and value their opinions. I will be honest and undeterred by personal interest and money. Some of my opponents have an incredible financial backing from various developers that do not even live in Garden Grove. I do not know the intentions of my opponents or the drive behind their intentions. I can only speak for myself. My intentions for this city are not driven by campaign contributions or personal interest. I am currently a senior at California State University Fullerton. I am almost finished with two bachelor degrees, one in Physics, and one in Music Education. I am also pursuing a minor in Mathematics. I also have completed aviation ground and flight school. I now hold my Private Pilot Certificate VFR. I have grown up in this community and lived here all my life. There are a lot of improvements I can make to local government to better serve its constituents. I let my voice be heard when I feel there is injustice, and I don't give in.
