Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Steve Bromberg

Candidate for
City Council; City of Newport Beach; District 5

This information is provided by the candidate

My philosophy as a City Councilman for the City of Newport Beach is quite simple. Listen to the people. Enhance, not just maintain, our Quality of Life.

For the City of Newport Beach to offer the services we receive and expect every day, the city must be financially sound. The City Council is mandated to move forward on issues that are in the best interests of the citizens. Unfortunately, some equate "best interests for the citizens" with dollars and cents.

Although I am fiscally conservative, I also recognize that the best interests of the people include, first and foremost, the desires of those people. Newport Beach should not become the resort hotel capital for Orange County. To do so will impact our quality of life, and we most surely deserve better.

Our city is very solvent, and we receive the very best of services, including police and fire. We have investments, we even have oil wells. We will do well without numerous resort hotels.

Significant effort must be made to protect ourselves from 24-hour a day, 7-day a week flights from John Wayne Airport.

All issues affect our quality of life. Please take a look at my position paper for a greater in-depth analysis. Thank you.
