Candidate for
Member, City Council; City of Yorba Linda

This information is provided by the candidate

http://www.voteboz@aol.com We believe that Carl is the best qualified candidate to lead the City of Yorba Linda into the new millennium. He has faced the toughest competition and excelled in all he has done. He has been a team player and has been involved in the community at all levels since 1976. He has always had the best interests of the city in mind.

He has had the opportunity and great pleasure to serve the city as one of its Planning Commissioners for the past 21 years. He has worked in harmony with all of the City Council members since before 1980 and is not beholden to any special interest groups. During his tenure he has had the opportunity to participate in more than 500 public hearing items regarding all development aspects that have occurred in the City over the past two decades.

The City is crying out for the restoration of dignity, respect and honor that has been missing in the City Council. Throughout his long service to the City, he has never expressed the desire to run for public office. However, the discord on the City Council over the past eight years or so has led him to conclude that our community needs stable and thoughtful leadership.

Carl has lived in Yorba Linda since 1971 and has had the opportunity to reside in both the eastern and western parts of the city, thus having an understanding of the developmental needs throughout the City.

During the years that his two sons were growing up here, Carl participated in their soccer and baseball activities as a coach and manager.

Carl's wife Linda has been an educator for over 23 years and has served as a teacher in the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District, both at Fairmont and Brookhaven Elementary Schools. She is currently and elementary school principal in the Lowell Joint School District in La Habra.

Other leadership roles that Carl has held wre president of Servite High School Parents Guild, sixyear board member of the Notre Dame Club of Orange County, and served as thep resident of this 2,500 member organization for three years. He was named Person of the Year in 1997.

Carl has demonstrated leadership and will bring stability and reasonableness to our City Council and will set as a priority a continuation of the low density development that has made our community such an outstanding place to live. He has been a supporter of the arts in the City since the Forum was built in 1984.

Carl has helped to plan and approve most of Yorba Linda's quality developments, including:

1993 General Plan Committee member updating development guidelines 24 religious facilities 10,600 homes Nixon Presidential Library Yorba Linda Community Center Tommy Lasorda Gymnasium Buena Vista Equestrian Center Susanna Bixby Bryant Ranch House restoration Vista Del Verde Golf Course and Community Savi Ranch Retail and Industrial Projects Eastlake Village Residential and Commercial Bryant Ranch Residential and Commercial Town Center Project

Carl has both a Bachelors Degree in Aeronautical Engineering from University of Notre Dame, and an MBA from the University of Southern California. His background is in the valuation of commercial, industrial, office and residential tracts for financial institutions, attorneys and various types of governmental agencies.

He has an outstanding record of attendance at city meetings and views his participation as a critical responsibility to the community.

Carl has also served on the following committees:

Memeber - Towne Center Committee 2000

Member - General Plan Committee 1993

Chairman - Housing and Community Development Committee 1978-1985
