Accountability

By Donn R.J. Filbert

Candidate for Council Member; City of Arcata

This information is provided by the candidate
Your Council is in charge... Your Council is accountable!
I want an end to all "back door" deals in which the Planning Commission, or the Transportation Safety Commission, or any other group of non-elected individuals come to the City Council chambers with the expectation of a glib and quick rubber stamp for their always over priced projects. I want all of this stuff presented first directly to the City Council, and I want all of the figures out front, and on the table. I will personally fight for a Code which eliminates all "mark-ups" to voter approved contracts. I will demand that the citizens of Arcata are told the entire costs to all projects - particularly those involving long-term Bonded Indebtedness: the complete monetary figures breakdown; and who gets what.
