I was born and raised in a small farming community outside of Tracy, California. I attended a country school with a graduating class of thirteen. I am a product of a well-rounded education and supportive parents. In 1978, I graduated from Tracy High School as a valedictorian and immediately began my college education at a top-ranked university, U.C. Berkeley. Music, art, and athletics have always played an important role in my education. I auditioned and was selected from 15 for two open positions in the CAL BAND. I am an avid rooter for CAL football - both in times of loss and times of victory. I have spent over fifteen years working in the field of technology and am an advocate for integrating these valuable tools in our learning environment. I was instrumental in establishing a "decentralized" computing workforce in a large corporation. I managed and operated computer and network systems for the largest region in Pacific Gas & Electric Company. Through my children (ages 9, 7, and 5) I have become an active participant in curriculum development and enhancements. I am a current North Fork Site Council member and PTG officer. I believe in identifying the "best practices" of other educational institutions and bringing them "home". |
