I have been involved in statewide water issues for 27 years, 9 years as an elected representive and 18 years as a private citizen advocating exceptional water quality and reasonable water rates. As a private citizen, I served on a statewide steering committee that stopped the Peripheral Canal, that would have exported our water to Southern California. I CO-chaired the ballot measure "W" campaign to build Los Vaqueros Reservoir, for improved water quality and reliability to the 430,000 people living in Contra Costa Water District. As an elected Director, I lead the team that completed the Los Vaqueros project under the budget estimate, which will soon will be open to some of the finest fishing and recreation in Northern California. Our work is not done, as we must successfully complete State and Federal negotiations known as Cal/Fed, to ensure water reliability without harming the environment, recreation, or water quality and reduce our water rates. I am deeply involved in the negotiations, and I need community support to complete this all important task. Please seriously consider the leadership I have provided, then vote for me as Director of the Contra Costa Water Disrtict. Thank you.
