Keeping pace with 21st century technology

By William "Bill" Nicholson, M.D.

Candidate for Member, Board of Hospital Directors; Washington Township Health Care District

This information is provided by the candidate
New medical technologies, treatments, and equipment are being developed quickly.
In my first term on the board, many significant improvements were made in our district.

We instituted a Childhood Immuniation Program, a Joint Replacement Program, the Physical Therapy Assistant training program, a new Digital Cardiac Catheterization Lab, and completed a seismic upgrade. We modernized our Birthing Center and installed a new Mammogram facility. In addition, we introduced a new web site (http://www.whhs.com) to help keep residents informed about health programs and services.

A complete replacement of our computer system is in progress which will enable us to use electronic hospital medical records and improve the quality and safty of today's complex medical care. Our new Radiation Therapy center will be completed soon and drawings for the construction of an expanded, state-of-the-art Emergency Room and ICU/CCU complex are being reviewed.

These past two years have been a time of dynamic changes and improvements and I hope to continue serving my hospital and my community in making the Washington Hospital District a model standard of excellence.
