Political Philosophy for Roy Nakadegawa
Candidate for |
Voters appear to be favoring Smart Growth, Sustainability, Improving our Economic, Social and Environmental Conservation and Cutting Taxes. All of which I support but it also appears voters are willing to support more funding for public transit if it is convenient, cost-effective and if it will improve our social and environmental condition. These are some of the reasons I ran for BART. Many academicians and transport professionals have endorsed my candidacy for they believe I am knowledgeable of overall transportation working for the social good. One of the several academic endorser wrote this endorsement and mentions some of my philosophy. Emeritus Professor Webber was Director of University of California Berkeley's Transportation Center wrote:
"It is extremely rare to find an experienced professional elected to a public-service role that is exactly central to his professional expertise. Roy Nakadegawa is such a rare public official.-------------------- Yes, I strongly believe, if we are to use public money to increase and up grade transit service, we should spend it in the most productive and effective way and I believe that the public prefers it that way. Having traveled extensively to view land use integration and study how various transit modes operate integrally, I feel I have a well rounded background to make the wise decisions which are cost-effective, convenient, and better for our environment. I aim to improve livability and our social condition with reliable and convenient public transit. Also, to be more acute of transit needs and use, I sold my car and use transit for nearly all my trips. |
