Candidate for
Member, Board of Directors; Alameda County Water District

I am committed to helping local governments improve the efficiency of their operations. I have spent over 20 years consulting to local governments in the Bay Area. For most of that time I led the Northern California public sector audit and consulting practice for an international accounting firm. This experience working with dozens of governments and my training as a certified public accountant allows me to bring unique perspective about Alameda County Water District's operations and finances to the board and management.

I have worked closely with many local governments including the County of Alameda, City of Oakland, City of Hayward, City of Palo Alto, City of Richmond, City of Santa Rosa, Union Sanitary District, Port of Oakland, Oakland Unified School District, Peralta Community College District, California Department of Parks and Recreation, California Bureau of State Audits and many others. I have performed financial audits, effectiveness and efficiency reviews, policies and procedures development, waste management consulting, fixed assets management and litigation support services for local governments.

I also volunteer my time in the service of local governments. I have served as elected Auditor of City of Alameda, Interim Finance Director of City of Fremont, President of Chabot-Las Positas Community College Foundation, Treasurer of the Oakland Chamber of Commerce and President of the San Francisco Jaycees. I have also served on San Francisco Citizens' Advisory Committee on Wastewater, Union City Mobile Home Rent Review Board and City of Alameda Strategic Planning Committee.

I am married with my two sons, ages 16 and 9. We are active in our church and in our sons school and athletic ativities. For example, my older son and I coached my younger son's CYO basketball team the last two years. I am a performing member of the Berkeley Symphony Orchestra where I play violin. My older son and I volunteer at the Ohlone Wildlife Center.
