Sierra Madre's Sense of Historical Meaning

By Bill Tice

Candidate for Council Member; City of Sierra Madre

This information is provided by the candidate
If Sierra Madre loses its sense of historical meaning it will simply blend into the cities of Pasadena and Arcadia.
I live near the site where Maranatha High School hopes to build and relocate (1 Carter) and it would increase traffic by about one thousand car passes a day. This is a single residence zone and should remain so, except in the case of a wildlife refuge or an open space park. The city's founder lived on the property and so it has historical meaning.

If Sierra Madre loses its sense of historical meaning it will simply blend into the cities of Pasadena and Arcadia.

The Wistaria Vine is also of historical significance, and half of it is for sale and I think it would be wise for the city to raise money through private donations to buy it.
