What every voter in the 6th District should ask the Candidates
WHY MICHAEL H. JAMES IS THE ONLY QUALIFIED CANDIDATE FOR THE 6TH DISTRICT. By: Michael H. James

Ladies and gentlemen of the 6th district. As a political and business editor for the Wrigley Bulletin I have ask many of you, what you want from a candidate. And the number one question that is always asked is " what have they done for me lately". The other three candidate can't answer that questions because they haven't done anything for you, or me in this district for a long time if ever.

So here is what Michael H. James have done for you lately.

1) for the last 20 years I have serviced you, and your neighbors, with Watkins products that have made their quality of life heathier and taste better. The other candidates have just moved in or have been breezing through.

2) for that period of time I have collected and paid, to the state, over $100,000 worth of sales tax revenue. Most of which was collected from persons who lived outside of the county or state. No other candidate has ever owned a business in the District.

3)for the last 15 years I have paid directly property taxes that have been use by this city to pay for the services that we will supervise and spend. The others want to spend our tax dollars but have yet to contribute a dime.

4) for the last 9 years I have written articles for the Wrigley bulletin our local neighbor hood paper that goes everywhere. During that time I have talk to many of you and have informed you of the events and the people that effect your quality of life. My very first article was the one I wrote after spending 3 sleepless nights protecting my store and the property of my neighbors from the anarchy that was happening at the moment. The other didn't even live or care.

5) for the last 15 years I have not only paid off my property (6 years ago) but have spent thousand of dollars fixing that property up to make my neighborhood a more inviting place. And received a beautification award in the process. The others didn't know and called me homeless.

6) for the last 15 years, I have served on and off on community organizations. And with you we continue to make our neighborhoods a better place in which to live and work. The other know our pain so well but have never suffered with us.

7) for the last 20 years since I moved here, I have voted in every election and have a perfect voting record. The other have never voted in the district until just recently.

8) Before I entered this race I took a close look at my personal life, my business life, and looked in my closet, to see if there was anything about me that would bring dishonor or discredit to the residents of the 6th district. I think that honesty, integrity, character, and commitment to you matters. The other candidates have not and have hide many of their shocking pasts, and hope to use this office as the vindication for those past deeds.

Being your next council person, your servant, will be a privilege and an honor. I will not use this office as a stepping stone to some higher office, or to look good on some resume, or as vindication for some past deeds. So I ask and thank you for your vote.
Vote James for change

I have been called by a local paper, first "Homeless turned salesman". And now "Redevelopment activist with a fount of ideas, with rough edges, left field proposals, and will virtually close down city libraries." Yes its true I was homeless twice in my live, but it was not due to any addiction problems, it was because I didn't have any money for a place to live, and was to proud to move in with relatives. Yes I am a salesman, started with 17 dollars became a success and now help others to do the same. And now I am an redevelopment activist, well I live in the most neglected district in the city, the most overcrowded district in the city, and the district most in need of redevelopment. Yes activist, I care that those conditions exist in my 20 year neighborhood, and yes I want to change that, and yes some of the ideas are innovative. So was Noah and his Ark. As far virtually closing down the libraries, the key word her is virtual. Because the library of the very near future is virtually on line. And that library will be in each persons home. And we will not have physical books, or newspapers, or video tapes, or Cds, and will listen and look at DVD's in our BVD's.
That is why I will work to bring our District into the 21st Century. I have the vision and the desire to create 21st Century living for 21st century lifestyles, in our 21st century neighborhoods.

Its not about Senior Centers, Its about affordable Senior Houising. Its not about parks, its about putting people in their own individual open space. Its not about jobs, it's about building affordable Housing,
