Californians must retake control of the legislature from the big money corporations and PACs

Face it -- even if you are able to contribute to a politician's campaign from time to time, there's no way your check is going to get the attention of a politician the way some corporations hefty donation will. That's why, as a candidate for California State Senate, I make this pledge:

I will not accept campaign donations or gifts of any kind from any business or PAC -- not even from those PACs with whom I am philosophically aligned. Nor will I accept donations from outside the state of California.

What does this mean to you? It means that if elected, I will owe favors to no one other than the voters.

  • It means I will vote against special tax cuts for the big businesses that expect favors in return for campaign contributions, and vote in favor of tax cuts for the working families who now carry too much of the tax burden.

  • It means the corporations will have to find someone else to vote to cut overtime pay, because I'll be voting for the wage earners who sent me to Sacramento.

Access to democracy should never be based on your ability to pay.
