Valerie Janlois lives in Danville with her husband of ten years, Joseph. As the former California State Chair of the Natural Law Party, Ms. Janlois oversaw the NLP's successful drive for inclusion on the state ballot in 1996.

Ms. Janlois is a teacher of the Transcendental Meditation Program, and has been tapped to coordinate a regional brain research project to determine the effects of the Transcendental Meditation Program on children diagnosed with ADD and ADHD, (attention-deficit disorder and attention-deficit / hyperactivity disorder).

Her first children's book, Rats & Cats, is due out this year.
