Rudy Favila was born in Sacramento, California - the third oldest in a family of 10. Rudy attended school in Sacramento, graduating from Sacramento State University with a Bachelors in Criminal Justice.

Rudy began working for the California Youth Authority as he met and married his wife Claudia of over 30 years. Rudy and Claudia have two daughters, Colleen and Cristel. Rudy's daughter Colleen has been married to her husband Mark for over 3 years, and they had a baby girl on October 19, 1999, making Rudy and Claudia grandparents for the first time.

Rudy and Claudia moved to Ontario California in 1978 and have been their ever since. Rudy and Claudia have both recently retired and have been pursuing community outreach, health and wellness, and their new grand child.
