Member of the State Assembly; District 72

Lynn Daucher has been married to Don for 30 years. She has four children who are all college graduates and responsible citizens. Lynn has lived in Brea, California for 28 years. She is a former teacher and received a Bachelor of Science, Cum Laude from the University of Rochester.

Lynn Daucher is very active in the community and is a member of various PTA's, the Kiwanis Club of Brea, the Republican Women of Brea and youth sports and high school booster clubs.

Lynn Daucher's public service record proves she has the experience we can trust.

Lynn was a school board member for 13 years. During that time she:

• Reduced class sizes to improve reading, writing and English speaking skills;
• Started drug education and zero tolerance programs;
• Increased parent-teacher contacts to ensure academic success;
• Turned back her salary and paid her own expenses so schools could use those dollars to improve instruction;
• Brought the internet to local schools in 1992;
• Strengthened teaching methods and raised criteria and frequency of instuction evaluation;
• Instituted the highest graduation standards in Orange County;
• Required career shadowing to help expose students to job skills needed to succeed in the real world;
• Donated a yearly scholarship to be used by teachers to improve their skills;
• Balanced the budget and built up reserves and
• Negotiated public-private partnerships to build a new elementary school and a new high school - all without using a penny of new taxes.

• How important it is that our graduates read, write and speak English;
• Parental involvement increases the likelihood that our students will succeed;
• Local control will make our schools better and
• There must be no tolerance for drugs or violence in our schools.

• Kept her promise to complete the renovation of the Downtown area of Brea;
• Led the successful fight to retain full funding for the special drug enforcement unit;
• Reduced the size of city government, cut waste from the budget and helped her city accumulate a $5 million surplus;
• Helped to organize a team of community volunteers to assist police with paper work;
• Put a sworn police officer on high school campuses to deal with crime problems in schools;
• Started school day care at elementary schools and free after school programs at the community center;
• Added police so that the city has the highest level of officers in its history and
• Helped to organize "volunteens", a program which pays teenagers a small stipend for community service.
