John F. LemMon, JD, MBA: A Justice Professional for the Hall of Justice. John F. LemMon is a native Californian, born in the early sixties and raised in northern California. John attended local elementary schools, Bellarmine College Preparatory and the University of California at Berkeley. He graduated from the University of San Francisco with a Bachelor's Degree (BA) in Governmental Studies in 1986. John served as editor of the Law School News at Golden Gate Univerity, earning a Doctorate of Jurisprudence (JD) from that institution in 1989. As a new member of the Bar, John began his legal career with the law firm of James, Gack & Freeman, before taking a job under Gene L. Tunney as a Deputy District Attorney for the County of Sonoma. John then worked for Robert A. Smith, City Prosecutor for the City of Sonoma as his Prosecuting Deputy City Attorney, and, while serving in that capacity returned to school at Sonoma State University where he earned a Masters in Business Administration (MBA). His thesis on The Application of Total Quality Management in the Public Sector earned him recognition at both the Operations Reserach Socity of America (ORSA) and the Institute of Managerial Science (TIMS); he was ultimately invited to present his research and findings at a joint ORSA-TIMS conference in Arizona in 1994. John LemMon entered into private practice in 1993 and began serving as a Judge Pro-Tem for the former Sonoma County Municipal Court that same year. In 1995 he began serving in that same position as a settlement conference referee for the Sonoma County Superior Court. John has also served as a Hearing Officer for the City of Palo Alto Police Department, the Sonoma County Community Development Commission, the County of Sonoma, the City of Oxnard, and several other municipal agencies. In addition, John has served as a fee arbitrator for the Sonoma County Bar Association. John is active in the community, serving as Chairman of the Sonoma Valley Citizens Advisory Commission, a City of Sonoma and County of Sonoma joint powers authority, and is active in emergency rescue as well. John LemMon currently resides in the Sonoma Valley and has law offices in both Sonoma and Santa Rosa. |
