Shall Ordinance No. 021-99 C.S. adopted by the Stockton City Council on November 23, 1999, be approved to authorize a one percent (1%) increase, from the current eight percent (8%), to nine percent (9%) in the City of Stockton's Transient Occupancy Tax charged by the operators of a hotel, motel, inn, or similar structure to persons who use the same for dwelling, lodging, or sleeping purposes for a period of 30 days or less.
Summary:
That Ordinance No. 021-99 C.S. adopted by the Stockton City Council on November 23, 1999, if approved by the voters, would authorize a one percent (1%) increase from the current eight percent (8%) to nine percent (9%) in the City of Stockton Transient Occupancy Tax. The Transient Occupancy Tax is a tax collected by operators of hotels, motels, inns, and similar structures from persons using the same for dwelling, lodging, or sleeping purposes for a period of 30 days or less.
