My late father, Judge Bruce F. Allen, made a carreer of protecting the rights of Santa Clara County residents, with out regard for wealth or position. I hope to follow that example on the Bench as I have already done in my 18 years of running my own law practice.

My cases have both paid and pro bono have made a difference in our community. In 1981 one of my cases forced a local city council to hold an election to allow the voters to choose instead of allowing the officials to extend their own terms of office

From 1983 to 1988 several of my cases protected the redwoods of the Santa Cruz Mountains including scenic Moody Gultch and changed the Forest Practice Act to include increased environmental protection.

One of my cases obtained protection for children by requiring nationwide labeling on plastic bags.

Another case uncovered corruption and stopped police brutality in a local small town police department, and I have successfully defended peace officers wrongfully accused of brutality
