Candidate Statement

Law enforcement is overwhelmingly united behind my candidacy. Police, prosecutors, and crime victims support me because they know I will be a fair, no-nonsense Judge, who will support law and order for the citizens of Orange County.

As a Deputy District Attorney for 12 years, I have served you by prosecuting numerous felony crimes, including murder, rape, robbery, burglary, arson, spousal abuse, drugs, and street gang terrorism. I am currently a Senior Deputy District Attorney assigned to the Target Gang unit, which focuses on the prosecution and elimination of violent criminal street gangs.

For the last five years, I have convicted, and taken off the streets hundreds of gang members, and sent many of them to prison for life.

I strongly support Three Strikes, Victims Rights, and California's Death Penalty. I am endorsed by numerous Victims Rights organizations, including Crime Victims United and Citizens for Law and Order. I have worked closely with MADD in assisting victims in DUI-related homicides. In 1999, I received the Victim-Witness Outstanding Prosecution and Human Service award for convicting three gang defendants of murder, in the tragic stabbing death of Michael Wasney, a 29-year old San Clemente grocery store employee.
