Future growth

By Bill Sutherland

Candidate for Member of the City Council; City of Torrance

This information is provided by the candidate
We must balance all future growth with the existing community.
We must examine all future developments on an individual basis. We must make sure that new projects do not overburden our neighborhoods with increased traffic. I believe that builders and developers must pay their fair share of all road improvements to handle the traffic they propose to add to our streets.

All projects should not be automatically granted a conditional use permit. We have rules and regulations for a reason and to disregard them in every instance means we should not have them at all.

Once our open space is gone, we can not get it back. The quality of life is more important than the quantity of developments.
