Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Fred J Mangels

Candidate for
Member, Libertarian Party Central Committee

This information is provided by the candidate

I joined the Libertarian Party in 1992 when I realized the Libertarian Party was the ONLY political party that fights for individual liberty and personal responsibility. The only party that wants to put a check on a government that spends too much, taxes too much and involves itself in your personal life too much. I realized that we'll never restore Liberty in this country if we don't take an active role as individuals and do what we can as individuals to stop our race towards a totalitarian police state.

Towards that end I became active in a number of projects and used my position as Chair of the Libertarian Party of Humboldt County to support organizations and legislation, both local, statewide and national, that dealt with libertarian oriented issues. I've been active in campaigns of Libertarian candidates running for public office, several issues regarding ending the insane war on drugs, defending the individual's right to own firearms, and reducing or eliminating our tax burden, to name a few.

I'm a member of the following organizations:

  • The Libertarian Party of California
  • The Libertarian National Committee.
  • The International Society for Individual Liberty
  • Gun Owners of America and Gun Owners of California
  • National Rifle Association

Though not a dues paying member, I have supported the following organizations (partial list):
  • National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws
  • Separation of School and State Alliance
  • Forfeiture Endangers American Rights
  • American Medical Marijuana Association
  • American Land Rights Association
  • Drug Reform Coordination Network
  • American Civil Liberties Union (on certain libertarian issues)

Please vote for me and the other four County Central Committee candidates on March 7. If you'd like to become a dues paying member of the Libertarian Party, you can join online via the link on the Libertarian Party of Humboldt County (LPHC) web page. If you're not currently registered to vote as a Libertarian, contact me and I'll see that you get a postpaid voter registration card. You can also download a voter registration form from the LPHC web page at http://www.wcinet.net/~freddym.We hope you'll join us in the struggle for the restoration of American Liberty.
