QUALITY OF LIFEBy Philip M. "Phil" ErdmanCandidate for Supervisor; County of Fresno; District 5 | |

There are many issues that affect just how we want and are able to live. Read on for a brief statement, or visit my website and click to Quality of Life.Air and water are two vital natural resources. It is not a supprise to us in the San Joaquin Valley that during certain times of year our air quality is at the "alert" stage. Many have blamed the pollution from the Bay area. The air quality experts in the valley say it is from our own making; that agriculture discing, along with polluting industry and vehicle emissions, are the culprits. Transportation issues. We have constructed our cross-town freeways, but what about Friant/Millerton and 180? Now we have cross-town freeways, what about the added pollution? I believe we need to now direct our attention to County roads & light-rail/clean-air modes of transportation. Can you find a parking space downtown? I can't. How about flying out of, or to, Fresno, Can you obtain a decent price and schedule? These two embarrassing situations are real life concerns that I intend to seriously address and work with other elected officials and the community to remedy. |
