This information is provided by the candidate |
Resolution of criminal matters requires a judge with experience and determination. As a deputy district attorney in Solano and Contra Costa counties I had the opportunity to be involved in the investigation, preparation and prosecution of criminal cases involving drunk driving, burglary, assault, sexual crimes, narcotics, robbery and murder. I have presented cases to the grand jury and obtained criminal indictments for the illegal manufacture of drugs, sales of narcotics and conspiracy to commit crimes. In my career as a deputy district attorney, I tried over 30 cases to jury verdict and have worked to keep our homes, schools and streets safe. At local police academies, John F. Kennedy University and UC I taught police officers and cadets the laws of arrest, evidence, courtroom procedure, and service of arrest and search warrants. I have assisted police officers prepare and write affidavits to obtain search warrants in drug manufacturing, drug sales, and murder cases. My experience, background and education gives me the ability to home in on the important matters in a criminal case and has prepared me to be firm, fair, and decisive. Criminals who have been convicted of offenses will understand that society does not and cannot tolerate repeated and increasing violence and vicious attacks on members of our community. Our society, homes, streets and schools need to protected. I will actively work with probation, the law enforcement community, educators, our legislature, and you to help bring about pride in our legal system. |
