Contra Costa County, CA | March 7, 2000 Election |
We need a comprehensive devepopment plan that is well balanced.By Sandra FredricksonCandidate for Supervisor; County of Contra Costa; District 5 | |

We need to activly be concerned regarding all aspects of growth in east county. We need to look at the compromise between growth, habitat and environmental issues in our region. We need planned growth that encompasses all aspects of growth. We cannot ignore sanitation problems we will have in the future along with the availibility of good water. We need to make sure the growth is well planned and not sprawl. The lack of schools and jobs in east county realistically need to be part of our planning process. We need to look at minimizing the loss of agri-business that our eastern county is so well known for and set aside realistic protections for these areas in ways that do not adversely affect property owners. We need comprehensive planning and we need to listen to the constituency on planning matters that adversly effect their lives or lifestyle. I am not advocating stopping growth, however,I am an extreme proponent of well planned growth and growth that is consusive to the region and the environment. |
