The questions were prepared by the League of Women Voters of Hamilton County and asked of all candidates for this office. Read the answers from all candidates. Questions & Answers1. What are your views regarding the need for public transportation in your community to promote access to employment throughout the region?
My town Reading is fortunate to be included on several SORTA Routes I believe that the current public transportation available meets our community needs 2. Would you be in favor of county-wide campaign finance regulations that would provide for public matching funds, limit campaign contributions and provide for more disclosure? State your opinions on these ideas; whether you would support or oppose them.
I wound not favor public matching funds for any campaign at the county level or lower. It is not necessary to use public assets for this purpose. I do not see a need to limit contributions at this level either, but I also do not oppose one. I believe that simplifying the system would allow more involvement at the local level 3. What are the benefits/detriments to land use planning prior to zoning decisions?
Land use planning prior to zoning decisions allows a community, county or other entity to proved a "look at its own future". To have a planned usage of land is similar in that regard, to having a financial plan. Proper land usage is an asset to the community
Responses to questions asked of each candidate are reproduced as submitted to the League, but formatted for Web display. Candidates were asked to limit their responses to 300 words for all 3 answers. Simple spelling or typographical errors were corrected after confirmation with the candidate. |
