The questions were prepared by the League of Women Voters of Hamilton County and asked of all candidates for this office.

Questions & Answers

1. What are your views regarding the need for public transportation in your community to promote access to employment throughout the region?

The City of Cheviot is only 1.1 sq. mile, so public transportation is not an issue.

2. Would you be in favor of county-wide campaign finance regulations that would provide for public matching funds, limit campaign contributions and provide for more disclosure? State your opinions on these ideas; whether you would support or oppose them.

No, because campaign finance regulations wouldn't or isn't a problem in Cheviot to my knowledge. Most of the candidates can run a pretty inexpensive campaign in Cheviot & still be successfully elected to office. Door-to-door grassroots politics is the most valuable and successful way to campaign, period!

3. What are the benefits/detriments to land use planning prior to zoning decisions?

The City of Cheviot has very little "green space" available for development to begin with. I don't believe this to be a factor in zoning decisions unless we redevelop our Business District by expanding, which, at this point, is not a possibility.
