My wife Marty, my son Eddie, and I have lived in the Forest Hills School District for the past 9 ½ years. Marty has a Masters Degree in Education and was the "building" substitute teacher for Mercer until January, 1999. From February 1999 until the end of the school year, she taught in the district's early childhood development program at Sherwood. Eddie is a 7th grade student at Nagel Middle School. I am a partner with the law firm of Frost & Jacobs, where I am a patent attorney. I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from the University of Missouri in 1977 and a law degree from Duke University in 1980. I am an adjunct professor of law at the University of Cincinnati Law School, where I teach Patent Law and Policy. I have been an extremely active volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America since 1990, working at the council, district, and unit levels. I was the committee chairman with Mercer's Cub Scout Pack 177 from 1994-1998 and received the Friend of Children award from the Mercer PTA in 1997 in recognition of my work. I am currently the Charter Organization Representative and Institutional Head for Pack 177, an assistant Scoutmaster with Troop 281 (Anderson Hills Methodist), a committee member with Troop 112 (Mt. Washington Presbyterian Church) and Unit Commissioner for Troop 277 (Newtown Methodist Church). I am on the Board of Directors of Wildwood Christian Education and Conference Center. I am a Rotarian with the Cincinnati club of Rotary International. I am a past president of the Cincinnati Intellectual Property Law Association. I served on the Anderson Township flood plain committee in 1993-94 in conjunction with the preparation of the Township's comprehensive land use plan. I am the Republican Precinct Executive for precinct QQ. In 1992-1993, I coached soccer in Anderson Township. I ran the YMCA soccer program for grades 1-6 in Yorktown, Indiana from 1985-1987. |
