Full Biography for Debbie L. Golden

Candidate for
Governing Board Member; Ventura Unified School District

I have been a Ventura resident since 1977. I have been married to Dr. Tom Golden for 22 years. Our three children have all attended or are still attending Ventura's public schools.

My educational background in social work (with an emphasis on anthropology) led me to an early career in volunteerism. I have served in many organizations, including: PTA President, School Site Council President, Ventura Education Partnership Board Member, City/School District Long-range Planning Committee, Community Memorial Healthcare Foundation - Executive Board Member responsible for Community Outreach Programs, Parent Advisory Committee Member, Casa Pacifica Board Member, Meals-on-Wheels Driver.

Recognition: 1996 Superintendent's Award for Ventura Unified School District, 1997 Paul Harris Fellow Award from Rotary Club, 1999 California Teacher's Association Award.
