Facilities Program.By Henry L. PetrinoCandidate for Governing Board Member; Sylvan Union School District | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Meeting the needs placed on us by growth and maximizing our facilities revenue is critical.Sylvan has several sources of facilites income. Mello Roos, developer fees and state match are in place. Soon it will be time to start talking about another local school bond. Our growth in enrollment dictates the need to utilize these resources to their maximum. Each and every local dollar spent must be matched by the state. Remember, state school bond money is our money the same as our locally generated revenue. We pay our portion of the state school bond debt regardless of any benefit to our local community. Let's be sure we are getting our share! Our projects must come in on time and on budget. The students will arrive. We need to be ready when they get here. Most importantly, we need to manage our resources to ensure that we can meet the challange indefinitely into the future. |
