Invested in our children's future, they are Modesto future. Make sure your vote count. Vote for Rickey McGill.Socrates in 470-399 B.C. wrote about the Educated. Socrates stated, " Whom, Then do I call educated?" First, Those who manage well the circumstances which they encounter day by day, who possess judgement which is accurate in meeting occasions as they arise, and rarely miss the expedient course of action. Next, Those who are decent and honorable in their interaction with all people - bearing easily and good naturedly that which is unpleasant or offensive in others, and being themselves as agreeable and reasonable with their associates as humanly possible to be; Furthermore, Those who hold their pleasures always under control, bearing up under them bravely and in a manner worthy of our common nature. Finally, and most important of all, those who are not spoiled by their successes, who do not desert their true selves, but hold their ground steadfastly as wise and sober minded people rejoicing no more in the good things which have come to them through chance than in those which through their own nature and intelligence are theirs since birth. Those, Who have character which is in accord not with one of these things, but with all of them these I maintain are educated and whole individuals possessed of all the virtues of humankind.
Educated people invest in their children;s future. Why did I say that. Because I really believe that all of us know, "it's is better to be prepared for an opportunity and not have one, than to have an opportunity and not be prepared." Do you believe that most of our students are really prepared and are ready to compete in the work force? The answer is no they are not. So, what can we do to help our children?(1). We have to make our children important .
Some of you are saying , my children are important, and this guy does not know what he is talking about.Well, are your children more important than making that house or car payment? Are your children more important than your job. The answer to these questions for many of us is no, they are not. How then do we change? We have to become no matter what people. If our children needs some quality time with their parents , we are going to give it to them no matter what. If our children can not read well, we are going to teach them how to read well no matter what. If our children need to have guidance and counseling, we are going to give them guidance and counseling no matter what. If our children need safer and secure school campuses , we are going to have safer and secure campuses for our children that we love no matter what. Since our children need good schools, good teacher, good counselor, good administrators, and good paying jobs, we are going to get all these things, an any more things that they need no matter what. |
