Involvement in Community Economic Growth

Importance of Community-wide Sanitary Sewer System, ideas to be looked into and future development that maybe needed.

Projects I would strongly like to see reviewed and looked into (Not saying I support any particular plan) is a Community-wide Sanitary Sewer System, future use of Hydroelectric Projects, and expansion of the current water system to meet predicted growth estimates of the future. Under recreation expansion of currently owned Recreation Sites with the idea of looking into broadening their involvement in promoting future sites in and near Willow Creek. Besides the Camp Kimtu area, I believe development of Bicycle Lanes throughout the community would be of sound advantages both economically and environmentally.

Realizing that the Sewer System was an issue 20 years past and probably still is, the dust should be blown off the originally plan and looked into for updating. If we notice as individuals that County, State, and Federal Regulations are changing in how much space is needed to build and place a septic tank, virtually makes smaller parcels unusable. Along with this our economic growth and subsistence in the coming years will require other types of businesses to come to provide employment (I agree do we really want more businesses? Yes our community growth will happen with or without, but without where does that leave us economically?).

My thoughts are to promote the idea of installing a Community-wide Sanitary Sewer System allowing for individuals to hook up now or in the future as needs and regulations change. I would make this, if not the top priority, an issue to do research for getting funded for as we all know things will not be cheaper in the future and how long do you think it will be before funding of such projects are limited from the Government. This would allow future growth and development and for those who did not want to hook into it immediately, the opportunity would be afforded them in the future.

Under Recreation there are many views of the direction that we should go, but the important part of our future will be tourism. Unless we have more than the "Largest Bigfoot Statue in the World (Which my the way was a very good economic asset to our community.), we are going to lose tourism to developing communities around us (Mainly the coast and east of us.). For I remember a saying I heard in rehabilitation, that I have often hear from individuals in our area, for "If I/we want to accomplish something, we need to quit talking and do for ourselves."

And if we look out our front doors, I would hope we see the same resource to promote tourism in our area and by insuring that we all work towards a common goal in providing what is needed to use our natural resources appropriately. But after we have found our common goal(s) we need to be a little more direct with the Government Agencies that manage our local public lands and insure that our representatives locally on up to the President are addressing our goals. This would be another strong priority that can not be accomplished without the community's support.
