Vote NO on Measure C; Vote YES on Measure D

By Charles C "Chuck" Escover

Candidate for Council Member; City of Pleasant Hill

This information is provided by the candidate
Measure C creates more paper work and will discourage citizens to financially support candidates they believe in. There is certainly a need for campaign reform at a state and federal level, however local elections are not controlled by money. Past elections in Pleasant Hill have shown that candidates have lost even though they had more money. Elections in Pleasant Hill are decided by those that get out and knock and talk, not by the size of their check book.

Measure D, would save the city money and would increase voter turn-out. We live in a busy society, with many households having both spouses working, and children with soccer practice, scouts ect. A higher turn-out would ensure that the will of the people is truly decided by the majority of the residents ( 65% vs 25% ). Spending $38,000 vs $6,200 for elections is fiscally irresponsible.
