She went to college in San Luis Obispo and then lived in the San Diego area until her family moved to Pleasanton in 1991. Kris has a degree in Business Administration from Cal Poly and experience in the corporate arena with a proven track record in organizational, communication, problem-solving and finacial skills. Kris has been married for 21 years, 8 of those in Pleasanton. She is the mother of 3 children currently in the Pleasanton schools from elementary to high school, and is in touch with the issues and concerns of parents, students and teachers today. When her children started in Pleasanton public schools eight years ago she decided it was her duty and desire to get involved in their education. She quickly went from class room volunteer to active parent club member(including running the spring fund raiser), to serving on the Vintage Hills and Pleasanton Middle School Site Council, District Advisory Committee, District Class Size Committee and continued getting more and more involved logging countless hours as a volunteer in our school and district. She was appointed a member of the District Strategic Planning team and is passionately committed to seeing that plan completed as it was intended. She also served on the Action Planning Team to "develop curriculum, create an atmosphere, and model behavior which instills personal, social, and civic responsibility". She has prepared for and attended every school board meeting for over a year, and is knowledgable, up on the issues and ready to run when she takes a seat on the board. She also has seen a great need for change. |
