TROPICS REZONING

Promote rezoning the Tropics to a redevelopment area.
The Tropics Seniors Mobile Home Park has endured a great deal of trauma as a result of the actions of its owner, Abraham Kehs. Mr. Kehs has continually tried to raise rents to outrageous levels and is now endeavoring to sell the lots to residents. By doing this, he can, in effect escape rent control within four years on the unsold lots and raise rents to any level he wishes.

It is of utmost importance that the City do everything in its power to keep this from occurring.

I propose rezoning the Tropics to a redevelopment area which would allow redevelopment funds expenditures to assist Eden Housing in purchasing the Park and setting it up as a non-profit.
