A district as diverse as the 15th has a number of needsThe following list are some of the more pressing concerns of the 15th district: 1. Schools: Three elementary schools, a junior high and a high school all of which have maintaeance and repair needs. 2. Fire Protection: The southeastern area of the district which is commericial and residential depend on fire protection located on Lebanon Road. The western area of the district which is heavy industrial and business with light commerical and residential depend on fire protection from downtown or from the fire hall on Lebanon Road. 3. Police: With the coming of a Hermitage Police Precinct there is the justification for a satallite precinct in the Donelson area. 4. Business: There is growing concern over the preceived decline in the Donelson Business Strip. Steps must be taken to organize property and business owners to reverse this trend 5. Music Valley: The 15th district is the home of an area that attracts a large percentage of our out of town tourist yet it does not have the appearance of an area that is attractive and inviting to our guests. This area needs infrastructure improvements as well as it's share of promotional dollars. 6. Infrastructure: With the coming of Opry Mills and the expanded Briley Parkway corridor the supporting roads and streets in the Donelson/Pennington Bend area are going to need increased expansion and mainteance 7. Storm Water: A few pockets have severe storm water and drainage problems that must have attention |
