My wife Kathi, our three children and I have lived in south Snohomish County for over twenty five years. I started my legal career as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney prosecuting criminal cases for four and one half years. The next fifteen years I spent in private practice specializing in trial work.

I served as a Judge Pro Tem for fifteen years in Snohomish County District Courts, Superior Court and Juvenile Court.

I was appointed to the Snohomish County South District Court Bench in December, 1992. I was elected to a four year term in 1995. I am serving my third term as the Court's Presiding Judge and have also been the Presiding Judge of all four Snohomish County District Courts.

My community involvement includes fifteen years coaching boys and girls basketball, soccer and track, past president of school PTA, Special Olympics volunteer, Edmonds school speaker, and I have served on numerous Boards of Directors including Community Alcohol Services, Edmonds School District Criminal Advisory Committee and two year President of Public Education Foundation for Edmonds. I am a six year Lynnwood Rotarian, two years as Community Service Director and this years Vice President.
